Copper Mountain Rev Tour

In Uncategorized on December 22, 2011 at 3:35 PM

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days it’s been grassy between training Gym and recovering!

But I just finished the Revolution Tour at Copper Mountain.
It was a really fun contest and I managed to see the fun side even under all that pressure which I was happy about.

I was in heat two so I competed at about 12 midday.
My practice was one of the worst I have had I didn’t land my full run until the very last minute, man that was relief!

I’ve been having trouble landing runs lately so I was stoked to be able to land my first run. When I looked at the score I got I was pretty surprised. i scored a 58 for a run that should have been around 70.

Second run we wanted to try something new and that didn’t quite work out.
But none the less I had a really fun day and I’m glad I looked at the positive side of things and tried something new.

Mid way through a front nine first hit.

Grand Prix wrap up.

In Uncategorized on December 11, 2011 at 12:12 PM

Today was the last day of the Grand Prix. The girls and both finals where the last to compete.
It was really good weather today which was good to see. Made for an even better show.

And when I competed:

Making excuses is the easy way out but the weather was really not ideal when I competed.
Like always I was riding really well in practice and the previous day but I just couldn’t seem to put it down when it counted.

It was a super early drive for us this morning but it was all worth it and Jenn got a really good result.

This week the plan is to get some really good training in before the Revolution Tour next week.

First World Cup!

In Uncategorized on August 28, 2011 at 7:47 AM

Yesterday i competed in my first World Cup event. Probably the biggest and most important contest of my life.
The World Cup vibe is pretty good. It’s alot more organised than other events i have done. And i didn’t really have to worry about anything except doing my run.

The weather was meant to be terrible the day of the contest but the heavens heard our prayers and we had a really nice sunny day!

When i was in the gate waiting for my first run, I was probably the most nervous i have ever been in my life.
My coach even agreed.
But that didn’t bother me and i managed to land my first run under pressure. I was so stoked! landing my first run at a world cup. It felt good!

Second run didn’t go as well, the pipe was getting worse and my board was alot faster. My coach did some magic with the wax.

Here is a little picture my friend JJ Thomas took.

I’ll try and get the video this afternoon and post that.
