Weekend of fun

In Uncategorized on May 29, 2012 at 7:39 AM

We just had the first real sunny weekend that I’ve seen since I’ve been here in Vermont. So we had to make the most of it. Saul has been waiting to take the Boat and the Wave-runner out on the lake.
Saturday was the day we hit the lake, it was heaps of fun but I think I got a little too much sun.

Can you tell we are having fun?

And then today we just got back from an overnight camping trip up in the Lye Brook Wilderness. We didn’t see a bear but we had heaps of fun.
We hiked 5 miles the first day and then camped just off the trail. Cooked some dinner and played some cards. The second day we hiked another 5 miles and by the time we reached the end of the trails we where all super tired!

Jenn didn’t have any bugs around!

Lye Brock Falls

In Uncategorized on May 20, 2012 at 7:39 AM

Today Saul and I hiked up to Lye Brock Falls which is about a three hour return trip.

It took us close to two hours to get up there because it’s pretty steep on the way up and Gracie one of the dogs ate a toad and wasn’t feeling very well.

Before we could get there we had to cross a section. Which was really devastated by Hurricane Irene, that was really cool to see just how much force and destruction mother nature can do.

Most of the trail was pretty easy going and well maintained, although there was sections that had downed trees and a lot of rocks!

The falls where really cool once we got there.

We also saw a baby Owl on the way out of the trail. It must have fallen out of its nest. We got told about the Owl on the way in but we must have walked right past it.

Vermont days

In Uncategorized on May 18, 2012 at 2:28 AM

I’ve been hanging out in Vermont now for a little while and I must say that it’s been really fun. It’s giving me a great opportunity to get stronger in the gym with great facilities at Stratton Mountain School.

Also it’s been heaps of fun just relaxing and doing stuff I don’t usually get a chance to do.

Also today we saw a baby moose!!! That was pretty sweet, I spotted it and then after we had stopped to have a look everyone was getting out of their car and taking photos.

Here are a few photos of what’s been going on.

This is the gym at SMS, they must have one of the best facilities in the state.

NYC

In Uncategorized on May 2, 2012 at 10:28 AM

Jenn’s family all live in New Jersey which is really close to NYC. So we had to make a trip into the big apple one day.

I was really excited to check it out and do a little bit of shopping.

We Jumped aboard the “Hop on Hop off” style bus which i’m really glad we did as otherwise i dont think i would have enjoyed walking that much.

They also give you a really nice commentary on the bus which give you some New Yorker info which otherwise i would never have known.

I’m having a bit of trouble with my photo’s right now but for now this will hopefully do!

If you have trouble viewing the gallery below just let me know by sending me an e-mail or dropping a comment.
